  • This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • Responsible for developing and supporting web based, mobile-aware, Java applications and web services. As a member of an agile team , the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with internal customers, management, business analysts, project managers, IT architects and other developers to understand requirements and development needs while gaining valuable experience and skills.

What you'll do

  • With guidance of senior developers, creates new and maintains current applications, including, but not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements, and performance tuning in the Team Member Services portfolio
  • Use Microsoft's .NET framework to create and support applications written in C# and ASP.NET Web Services and multiple database server technologies
  • Participate in development and support of Web Sites, web services and batch processing software or customizing off the shelf software supporting the HR lines of business.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
  • Works with a team to create detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates, and ensures tasks/projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Works with cross functional team and/or production operations department to ensure deployments roll out smoothly and customer groups receive appropriate support
  • Documents validation of design decisions
  • Design and maintain system processes, procedures and support documentation based on lessons learned and continuous improvement
  • Supports the enforcement of policy and procedural changes within the development group
  • Supports the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines set forth by the development team
  • Participates in code reviews, participate in team development through an agile development methodology
  • Participate in DevOps and Cloud hosting initiatives.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 2 years strong development experience, 1 year web application or micro services development experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 2+ years of total development experience
  • Open Source experience will be an added advantage
  • Airline Industry experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic to intermediate development skills with one or more - XML, HTML, C#, .Net or Java, JavaScript, CSS, Angular/React, SOAP/REST and other web development technologies
  • Must be technically savvy including strong use of Microsoft development tools such as .NET and SQL Server
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or GitHUB
  • Knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases (MSSQL Server, Oracle)
  • Ability to scrutinize applications and services to ensure they adhere to security standards
  • Networking knowledge (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Personal commitment to Agile principles and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of TDD and automated testing
  • Knowledge of PII Compliance / OWASP standards
  • Knowledge of diagnostics tools (SOAPUI, Fiddler, IE Inspector, HTTP Analyzer, Dynatrace)
  • Willingness to learn new languages and technologies
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills in a fast-paced changing environment with focus on measurable results.
  • Experience working within an Agile development methodology.
  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Good verbal communication skills must be able to deliver technical solutions in an understandable manner to non-technical users.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
