General Job Function: This position will be responsible for preparing and reporting financial performance for the Ice Industries facility in Bowling Green, OH. This position performs daily accounting activities such as maintaining the general ledger, monthly closings, and preparing various accounting statements and financial reports.
Job Duties:
- Works with Executive Vice President and CFO to develop strategic and long-term financial goals and report regulatory compliance.
- Monitors the profitability of the Plant and assets
- Advises the Plant General Manager on the day-to-day aspects of running the Plant.
- Ensure the proper accounting and financial controls are followed at the Plant level.
- Develops the annual operating plan for the Plant.
- Owns the account reconciliation process to maintain the integrity of the Plant's general ledger and its supporting sub-systems.
- Assess the adequacy of reserves and overall financial reporting.
- Tracks and reports detailed information regarding the costs of business activity, BOMs & routings, labor reporting, standard costing, and overhead allocations.
- Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests before sending them for corporate approval.
- Monitors and reports purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs.
- Processes payroll and compiles payroll summaries.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Working Conditions: Periodic exposure to a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature.
- Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend at waist and knees, walk and stand for when necessary.
- Must lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds when necessary.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and climb (stairs).
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be flexible and able to change schedule and work hours to meet the organization's needs.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in senior-level accounting or finance roles. Must be thoroughly familiar with manufacturing processes.
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to analyze financial statements and manufacturing variances.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the consolidation of financial systems
- Epicor or similar ERP system experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to interface and present to all organizational levels.
