In conjunction with Executive Leadership, this key leadership role is responsible for the development and execution of the IT Strategy for the organization. The SVP IT is responsible for the leadership of the Information Systems and Technology departments. This role will establish, communicate and lead the strategic direction of the IT functions including enterprise architecture, data management, database administration, application support, infrastructure, conversion planning and execution, hardware and software for the credit union, telecommunications hardware/software/security, and document control. This includes ensuring appropriate IT resources for end-user support and the progress of credit union initiatives. From a strategic perspective, this role is responsible for championing the technology direction for the credit union as well as ensuring and managing appropriate vendor relationships. SVP of IT is responsible for elevation of technology to support business, operations, and digital transformation. The value of this role is to have a single point of contact responsible for the delivery, support, and progression of how technology is leveraged in the credit union. The end result being efficient and streamlined work processes for staff and improved service to our members through the use of technology.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, communicates and leads the strategic direction of the IT functions in alignment with business objectives. Responsible for developing and executing the enterprise architecture for the credit union.
- Leads and develops a team of IT professionals to execute roles consistent with the organizational and department strategies. Ensures effective IT operations performance to meet SLAs including daily computer operations and scheduling, daily network operations, infrastructure operations, user support, daily reporting.
- Ensures systems are up, secure, compliant, and recoverable. This includes computer systems security, data security, network security.
- Responsible for systems and software vendor relationships: Contracts, SLAs, etc.
- Fiscal management - Ownership and reconciliation of department operational and capital budgets. Align technology expenditures with business objectives.
- Responsible for IT project delivery and technology solutions/deliverables for strategic projects: On time, on budget, with expected benefits realized.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to ensure IT supports defined member experience and optimize business processes. Driving process re-engineering of high volume business process in collaboration with business to improve efficiencies.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities. Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner. Maintains member, team members and other sensitive information with confidentiality. Treats co-workers and members with respect.
- Supports, participates and volunteers in credit union member community activities, member relations and events that promotes member centric experiences.
- Stays abreast of current trends in financial services, business operations, processes, information technologies and project management disciplines.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience managing Information Technology for midsize organizations with complex, large scale IT projects involving cross functional disciplines.
- Must have experiences in operational efficiency initiatives, systems development and IT project and change management disciplines.
- Experience managing IT for a financial institution is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of core systems, software development life cycle, and application development process.
- Strong working knowledge in operational efficiency initiatives, systems development, implementations and conversions.
- A thorough understanding of, business processes and workflows, systems development lifecycle, and change management.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, organizational skills.
- People management skills with a particular emphasis on performance management disciplines.
- Strong third party/vendor management and contract negotiation skills. Strong problem solving ability.
- Presentation skills and self starter.
- Dealing with Ambiguity, Managing Vision and Purpose, Organizational Agility, Perspective, Strategic Agility.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (i.e. computer science, information systems, engineering); Experience in leading implementing technical projects/initiatives/change management.
- Post graduate degree preferred.
- Experience working for an organization with a regional model including some matrix reporting structure.
Pay scale by applicable geographic location:
- Alaska: $163,634.04 - $204,542.55
- Arizona: $143,267.57 - $179,084.46
- California: $157,313.41 - $196,641.76
- Florida: $135,542.36 - $169,427.95
- Nevada: $146,779.03 - $183,473.79
- Texas: $137,649.23 - $172,061.54
- Washington: $167,847.79 - $209,809.74
- Wyoming: $135,542.36 - $169,427.95
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, job related training/education, etc.
