Starting Pay: $30.37 to $35.49 per hour DOQ
Full Pay Range: $30.37 to $40.61 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
Position provides a broad range of administrative support and coordination contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Housing Department. Facilitates and maintains office supplies. Provides administrative support to the Housing Director, Assistant Housing Director, Housing Choice Voucher Team, Property Management Team, Community Connections Team, Quality Control Manager, Landlord Liaison, and Resident Advisory Board.

Essential Function Summaries

  • Provide administrative support to the Housing Director, Assistant Housing Director, Housing Choice Voucher Team, Property Management Team, Community Connections Team, Quality Control Manager, Landlord Liaison, and Resident Advisory Board.
  • Coordinate with all BHA departments to address Housing-related needs and facilitate efficient and effective communication and follow-through.
  • Assist with vendor and contractor management.
  • Assist the Housing Director with management of personnel issues and any resulting correspondence or records of outcome.
  • Gather information for reporting program compliance to outside agencies and assist with updating agency compliance websites.
  • Complete special projects as assigned including research, analysis, and final presentation of recommendations.
  • Coordinate responses for public records requests related to the Housing Department.
  • Receive and investigate tenant and participant grievances related to Housing Department staff.
  • Coordinate informal hearings for tenant and participant grievances.
  • Support Resident Advisory Board and Bay Vista Community Owners Association as needed.
  • Assist with Housing Department policy development and updates.
  • Interact with applicants, tenants, and participants as needed to obtain information on issues or concerns.
  • Address website questions and comments that are related to the Housing Department.
  • Coordinate website updates related to Housing Department.
  • Serve as back up to the Executive Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience

Education: Associates Degree Required; Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school): Preferred, Field of Study: Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.

Experience: 5 plus years of experience in an administrative support role preferably an accounting, paralegal, or public agency background.

Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any other equivalent combination of education and experience when relevant.

Computer Skills: Intermediate to Advanced level user of Microsoft Office programs.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, adding machines, photocopiers, and fax machines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee primarily sits at a desk using a computer but has the opportunity to move about at will. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various types of office equipment. The employee will need good listening abilities and may be exposed to noise from basic office machine operation.
