Job Description

Treasury is a function within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Finance organization that supports senior leadership in actively managing their balance sheet, Capital and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Liquidity, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Interest Rate Risk (IRR), across the respective lines of business. The CCB Treasury Controllers team is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of Treasury financials and controls, communicating CCB views of monthly and quarterly forecasts and actuals, annual budget forecasting and stress testing (CCAR/Risk Appetite). It is a unique and critical mix of reporting, analytics, and project management in an ever-changing regulatory environment.

You will analyze and understand the entire balance sheet, funding mechanisms, Retail financial/banking products, and how interest rates and other market variables impact the net income of the various CCB (Retail) businesses. The position offers visibility into various products across the bank as well as the unique opportunity to understand firm initiatives from a broad perspective. There is extensive partnership with colleagues in the Office of the CFO (OCFO) including Finance and Planning and Analysis (P&A) as well as Corporate functions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Managing continual financial planning and reporting activities (Outlook, Budget, Stress Testing) for a CCB business, providing business rational and decisions for all month-end financial forecasting
  • Provide LOB funding recommendations based on partnership with LOB Finance and P&A teams as well as Corporate Treasury
  • Drive Process improvements, efficiencies, consistency, and accuracy across CCB lines of business related to funding and reporting activities
  • Support ongoing structural interest rate monitoring and management
  • Complete various control checks, reconciliations, and provide variance analysis and commentary related to balance sheet and funding positions
  • Liaison with lines of business (LOB) Controllers, P&A and CFO teams, CCB Treasury Analytics, and Corporate Treasury and Risk on FTP framework changes, and other Corporate and senior management deliverables/initiatives

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other technical field
  • 2+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Essbase cubes
  • Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
  • Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments with often little lead time or information
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
